Agege Stadium not abandoned Teslim Balogun,others set for commissioning

Agege Stadium and other key sports facilities in Lagos State are on track to reopen soon, according to Honourable Damilare Orimoloye, Senior Special Assistant on Sports to Sanwo-Olu. Orimoloye dispelled concerns about abandonment, stating that Agege Stadium’s drainage reconstruction has been completed, with only turf laying and minor upgrades remaining.

The Teslim Balogun Stadium, left unused for nearly three years, is also undergoing renovations, alongside facilities in Ifako-Ijaye, Igbogbo, and Gbagada. Orimoloye confirmed that these arenas are being developed to meet the Confederation of African Football CAF standards, with indoor and outdoor courts receiving upgrades.

Orimoloye added that three facilities Ifako-Ijaye, Igbogbo, and Gbagada are expected to be commissioned within the next two to three months, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to delivering quality sports infrastructure for public use.
